Symbiotic relationship (Muraena helena - Lysmata seticaudata)


One of the most famous symbiotic relationships of marine species is between moray eels and shrimps. There is a mutually beneficial association between them because shrimps work as cleaners, eating parasites from moray eel’s body or mouth. They get to feed and also help moray get parasites out of its skin in a win-win situation.
Some parasites are needed to be healthy and some cause diseases…
