There are moments when the soul sees what the eyes cannot.
Everything becomes bright.
Everything becomes beautiful.
Like the medals around her neck.
Years of effort and the fight of every single day have become strength — both inside and outside the pool.
The power she carries in her soul has found its way into her body.
And now, everything feels easy.
Times, medals, records.
If you can dream it, ..you can do it.”
Model : Silia Chioti
Since 2018, Silia has been a member of the Greek National Para-Swimming Team. From her very first appearance at the National Championships that year, she broke the Greek record in every event she competed in. Among her achievements are the fastest times in Greece in the 50m and 100m freestyle, the 100m breaststroke, and the 200m individual medley. Her performances placed her third in Europe and fifth in the world. At the Berlin 2018 World Para Swimming World Series, Silia won six medals for Greece. Her vision has gradually deteriorated to one-tenth of normal vision. But as she says, “Instead of weakening me, it has given me the strength to move forward and pursue my dreams.” This summer, she will compete at the World Para Swimming Championships. Her greatest dream is the Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
